If
your course
requires the distribution of handouts, quizzes and/or tests you will soon
realize that paperwork distribution is one of the hardest challenges
to overcome in a distance learning environment. However, proper planning
with OULN Staff and adequate time management on our part you can brdige the
gap created by the physical distance between you and your students. For
Athens Instructors - you are responsible for preparing course material
for your Athens students. Should it be that a course is large enough to need
two classrooms OULN Staff will make certain to provide the overflow room
with the necessary paperwork, etc. **PLEASE NOTE** At any time, OULN Staff may be away from their offices expectedly or unexpectedly. After an appropriate amount of time, should you not receive a response from the staff member you are intending to contact, it would be advisable to access the HELP DESK sheet located in your instructor packet. PREFERRED
METHOD - BlackBoard
Course web site The Ohio University Computer Help Line (740-593-1222) is also available to answer questions about Blackboard. All course documents can be posted to your site. SHIPPING FROM ATHENS - FedEx A Federal Express account has been issued to OULN through University Outreach and Regional Campuses. This method of shipping to the regionals is efficient and provides a tracking number on each airbill. OULN business hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Emergencies happen, but, planning ahead for shipping is expected from each instructor. All information and paperwork should be given to your Athens contact two or more days in advance. Instructors, you should have the appropriate number of copies prepared for each of one of your students at the regional campuses prior to shipping. In Athens, your contact for distributing materials to the regional campuses is Ann Kyle, (740) 593-4950 for kylea@ohio.edu. E-MAILING - Course Paperwork, Exams and other correspondencexams and When e-mailing Ann Kyle, kylea@ohio.edu, please copy at least one other OULN staff member to make certain that your message is received and taken care of. EMERGENCY SITUATIONS - Multi-machine/All-in-one units Each
OULN classroom has an all-in-one unit that can be used as a fax machine,
a copier, a scanner or a printer. The units are there for your convenience
in case of an emergency; they are directly connected to the presentation
computers in each classroom. This is a last resort and we would encourage
you try to avoid this method at all costs. When operators are busy faxing,
copying or scanning, they are not operating the class. Remember, operators
are available for technical support and are not Support Staff. |
